DON'T JUST SHUFFLE WOOD!

My coworker is teaching me the nuances of chess. I am learning maneuvers such as 'the smothered meat' - sounds a bit lewd I know, 'the opposition' and many more....

The other day, he informed me of the two greatest crimes one can commit during a game of chess:

Playing for a draw: Playing to tie. You do not try to conquer.

Shuffling wood: Moving pieces around without a clear objective.

I was suddenly awe-struck with how these philosophies could apply to our own lives.
I don't want to just "shuffle wood" and hope for the best any longer. I don't want to just accept what life hands me!

Time to holler checkmate my friends!

I have had similar thoughts about Chess, or checkers, any game that forces you (if you are to win) to think three to 5 steps ahead. I love it!. Posturing.
I ALWAYS think steps ahead. Some people may think it's sneaky, but I'm usually prepared.
