LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY

HAPPY FLAG DAY... The old red leaf flew for the first time over Parliament Hill, on this day in 1965.

Peggy Nash, NDP MP is putting forward private member's legislation that would make today a national holiday.

Wouldn't that be grand?

hmmm...I feel this is bringing us closer to our American neighbours, whose veneration of Old Glory borders on embarrassing... tough call!

Peggy Nash is a national treasure.

Hope the other parties get on board with the NDP on this one.

Maybe we'll be more like Americans...but we'll also be more like Europeans by giving a country with a superlow holiday count a break during the dirty month of February.
