HONEST ED HAS DIED
Very sad. He really was the embodiment of the spirit of this city or at least what we would like to be.........
An immigrant, he started with little and made much. He was good to others. He supported his community, the theatre and his fellow man.
What a life he lived!

Theatre impresario and businessman Ed Mirvish died this morning at St. Micheal's Hospital, at the age of 93. The cause of death at this time is unknown.
"Honest Ed Mirvish" had humble beginnings when he opened Honest Ed's Bargain House.
In 1963, Ed launched his theatre career buying the Royal Alexandra Theatre and opening Ed's Warehouse Restaurant - where the only thing on the menu was roast beef.
Later, he added the Princess of Wales Theatre.
Ed Mirvish loves his job, and was loved by this city.
